Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa is the absolute holiday resort located at the south east coast of the island of Cyprus, popular for its gold sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Ayia Napa lately, apart from being a party holiday destination, it  attracts many families and has become one of the top family holiday destinations in Europe. Recently has been voted, by million of visitor of Trip Advisor web site,  as the number one holiday Beach Destination in Europe.

Ayia Napa lies near the natural forest park of Cape Greco, the souther eastern part of the island of Cyprus, next to Paralimni both part of a larger area known as Famagusta district. Town of Famagusta, in the remaining southern part of the district which occupied by Turkish forces since 1974, known as the Ghost City. Ayia Napa is about 6 kilometres (4 miles) away from Protaras which is another holiday resort also renowned for its sandy beaches.

Ayia Napa Monastery is without doubt the richer cultural site of the town. According to local tradition, Ayia Napa Monastery been built on the spot where a hunter in the 11th century found the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, hidden during the iconoclastic period.

The harbour (in greeks called limanaki) at Ayia napa is well worth visit during your holiday. There you can book pleasure boat cruises and fishing trips or just enjoy the fresh fish at one of the many fish restaurants.

Water World, the largest themed water park in Europe is situated on the outskirts of Ayia Napa, next to the area of coming yacht marina’s, and is an ideal place for a family fun.
